What is the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA)?

FOCA is a bill in both the U.S. House and Senate that both

President Obama, the Congressional leadership, and powerful pro-abortion groups have claimed they are committed to passing and signing into law.

What would FOCA do?

The passage of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) would lead to the greatest expansion of abortion since 1973.  It would enshire abortion as a "fundamental right" and not allow even a state legislature like Louisiana to pass any law restricting it.  Specifically, FOCA would:

• Make Partial-Birth abortion legal again.
• Overturn the Hyde Amendment and force tax-dollar funding of abortion.
• Invalidate all state pro-life laws restricting abortion, meaning:
  • Minors could have abortions without parental consent or notification.
  • No waiting periods or information on positive alternatives to abortions.
  • Doctors and hospitals would be forced to perform abortions.

If FOCA passes, all the laws restricting abortion in the state of Louisiana would become immediatly destroyed!
