Ways to Get your Group Involved

There are many ways to get your group involved in the 40 Days for Life New Orleans campaign, but here are a few specific ways:

Uniting in Prayer and Fasting to End Abortion during 40 Days- A cornerstone of 40 Days for Life is the focused prayer and fasting to end abortion during the 40 Days. Here are a couple ways to carry this out in your community or church:

• At every church service, event, or everyday in school, say the "Prayer for an End to Abortion" during the 40 days (prayer found on website).
• Arrange with campaign team to get 40 Days for Life Prayer Cards and distribute to congregation to foster daily prayer to end abortion. We hope you will arrange to get large number of cards, but we may ask for financial help to off-set costs.

Peaceful and Prayerful Vigil- People in your church or ministry signing up for a vigil hour and praying for their first time at the abortion facility may truly awake their hearts to the reality of abortion and encourage them to be active pro-lifers. Take one of the following methods to build up the peaceful and prayerful vigil that will go from 7 AM - 7 PM everyday at the Ridgelake abortion facility in Metairie. We encourage you to sign people up after a gathering and supply them with reminder cards (available from the campaign team) with their hour on it. Be sure have them agree to the Statement of Peace before signing up.

• Adopt-a-Day- Through working with the campaign team, choose a date within the 40 days that your group would "adopt", meaning your group would be responsible to have 2-3 people present at all 12 hours (Contact Yvette Fouchi, Vigil Coordinator to sign up: 40daysforlifenola@gmail.com or 504-874-9225)
• Adopt-a-Hour- Through working with the campaign team, "adopt" a hour within the 12 hours that your group would be responsible for across the board, meaning that if you chose 3 PM, your group would be responsible for having 2-3 people at the vigil everyday at 3 PM. • Individual hours- If you do not choose to do one of the above (the above are preferable), then please get the vigil schedule from the campaign team and sign up individuals for vigil hours.

Community Outreach- We invite you to participate in and advertise the events the campaign will be organizing. We also encourage you to educate and activate your group in other ways during the 40 days.

• Campaign Kick-off: September 23rd at 6:00 PM at Ridgelake Abortion Facility.
• Mid-way Event of Campaign- To Be Announced.
• Closing Celebration- Sunday November 2nd Time To Be Announced.
• Fetal Development education by linking each day of 40 days to week in gestation.
• Bumper sticker and flyering opportunities to be announced later.
