While 40 Days for Life has ended for 2009, abortion has not. 
You are needed, everyday, to continue standing for those who cannot stand for themselves.  You must witness to life everyday.

Here is a few idea on what you can do:

At the Abortion Facility:

• Continue to Stand in the Gap: On day 41, when the number of pro-lifers witnessing outside the abortion facility dwindles, you can bet those performing abortions will be relieved, for they know that our efforts work.  Continue to come out to the abortion facility to pray for the women, men, and babies involved in the horror of abortion.  Year round, there are groups of people working to make sure people are present at all hours the abortion facility is open.  Contact Betty Nadeau at eracn86@gmail.com to learn more.
• Become a Sidewalk Counselor: Become a trained sidewalk counselor who can engage the women entering the abortion facility and encourage them to choose life.  Contact Yvette Fouchi, our vigil coordinator, to be trained.
• Churches and Groups- Commit to Regular Time: If you are a coordinator of a group or church, continue to encourage your people to come out to the abortion facility by taking some time as a church each week or month. Contact Betty Nadeau at eracn86@gmail.com to learn more.   In addition, you can host a sidewalk counseling workshop by contacting Yvette Fouchi.

Simple Things for Yourself:

• Wear the Pro-Life Feet Pin everyday.
• Get a Choose Life License Plate on your car.
• Put a pro-life bumpers sticker or magnet on your car.  Try the "Preaux Life" one.

For a Church or Group:

• Host a talk or other event at your church to educate others.  Take a look at Louisiana Right to Life's presentations, especially the Pro-Life Persuasion workshop.  Contact us to learn about other ideas.
• Place white crosses or flags near your church or group to represent the number of lives lost to abortion everyday (4000).

This Fall's 40 Days for Life NOLA campaign will be held September 23rd to November 1st at Louisiana's largest abortion facility in Metairie.  

What is 40 Days for Life New Orleans?

40 Days for Life, a nationally coordinated campaign, will be happening in New Orleans from September 23rd - November 1st. While it is primarily sponsored by New Orleans Right to Life, 40 Days for Life is a project of numerous pro-life people and groups.

Learn about the successes of 40 Days for Life NOLA 2008.

40 Days for Life consists of three components:

• Prayer and Fasting: people of faith throughout our city joining in prayer and fasting for an end to abortion.
• Peaceful Vigil: a 40-day 12 hour a day peaceful and prayerful public vigil outside outside Louisiana's largest abortion facility in Metairie near Lakeside Mall.
• Community Outreach: taking a positive pro-life message to every corner of our city through targeted outreach.
